The popularity of the internet has led to a large number of predatory practices, by a variety of unscrupulous vendors. Unfortunately,  successful Commercial Skydiving Centers like Skydive Greene County  have been a target of these vendors.

The scheme works like this;

Companies like 1800Skyride ( AKA Adventure Sky Diving ) will advertise on the internet with the "Learn to Skydive"  message, and then offer to sell a "local" first jump course for a predetermined fee.

The problem;

1800Skyride does not own, control, or have a significant investment, in any local Skydive or Drop Zone operation outside the Atlanta and New Jersy area.

1800Skyride has No Airplanes, No Base of Operations, No Equipment, No instructors, No facilities, No liability, and No Obligation outside the Atlanta or New Jersy area.

1800Skyride (AKA Adventure Sky Diving ) takes your money, and then attempts to negotiate with a local Skydive Center to provide you, "their client", with a First Jump Course at a discounted rate.  The Skydive Center can then choose to accept, or decline the offer. 

If declined, 1800Skyride may then attempt to find another center who will accept the offer, even up to 100's of miles away.. If one is found to accept their offer, most likely it would be a part-time operation, where it may be difficult to schedule your training and jump. If you should find the final arrangement unacceptable, you would probably never get your money back regardless of refund guarantees..

United States Parachute Association ( USPA ) says NO to operations like   1800skyride

Skydive Greene County and most other organized parachute centers will not accept these discounted vouchers or gift certificates.   So, ...don't waste your money!

Other similar predator like operations showing up lately include,  OnLine Skydiving which is a consumer related marketing scheme where you will spend many times over the $500 value offered for free!
